Sherando Lake - Campbell Mtn: 37'55.203 -79'00.38
This is a great training ride, not really recreational... unless you really like pain! Leaving out of Sherando Lake Parking, head southwest out of the camping area towards the Blue Ridge Pkwy. At trail junction, before BRP, turn right, uphill, and continue to Slacks Overlook. At the Overlook Junction turn left up to the parking lot. Turn left onto the BRP and continue downhill to Rt 814 and turn right. Enjoy this downhill for 5 miles! At the intersection for Rt 56.... turn around and start your climb. This hillclimb enjoys roughly 1800ft of attitude over 5 miles. Steep but not too steep. At the top, left onto BRP and repeat. 25 miles of training.. DONE!
